The next GANYC Monthly Membership Meeting  will be held on Wednesday, November 7th, 2018, from 6:00-8:30pm, at Museum of Chinese in America (MOCA)

Registration for the meeting will be open between 5:30-7:30pm, anyone arriving at 7:30pm will not be checked in.

Subway: N, R, W, Q, J, Z, 6 trains to Canal St

Members will have the opportunity to peruse the MOCA Gallery starting at 5 pm (it was previously 5:30 pm). 

Guest speaker will be GANYC's own Kevin Fitzpatrick, who will speak on the topic World War I New York. 

Kevin Fitzpatrick has written and edited seven non-fiction books with ties to New York history. World War I New York: A Guide to the City’s Enduring Ties to the Great War won the Apple Award from the Guides Association of New York City for Outstanding Achievement in Book Writing: Non-Fiction. His 2016 book The Governors Island Explorer’s Guide is the first and only guidebook to the island.

Kevin served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve for six years and is a graduate of Northeast Missouri State. He is a licensed sightseeing guide and has been leading walking tours since 1999. Kevin is a World War I reenactor. He is the program director for the WWI Centennial Committee for New York City and representative on the U.S. World War One Centennial Commission. Kevin has appeared on the Travel Channel Mysteries at the Museum, C-SPAN Book TV, and WNET TV. He’s been interviewed on NPR, BBC Radio, and numerous podcasts. He resides in Manhattan.
