Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire 2024 Memorial FAM This walking tour will take us to the site of the factory fire of March 25, 1911 when 146, mostly young women, lost their lives. A synopsis of the horrific event and a tribute to the victims will be followed by a short walk through the streets of the West Village. We will visit the places where some of the women lived and note how the communities were impacted; how subsequent labor and justice movements helped to change laws; and now we publicly mourn today. We will end at Father Demo Square to celebrate life with stories, cannoli and pizza! Led by Robin Garr in loving memory of Lee Gelber.
