Members FAM: Beatnik Greenwich Village

Straighten your shades and fasten your leathers Daddy-o, because this walking tour goes right through the heart of Beatnik Greenwich Village. 

Starting near the site of the famed 8th St Bookstore, we will walk down MacDougal Street and across Bleecker Street, visiting some of the places and pads where Beatniks dug their scene. Including but not excluding - Washington Square Park, The Kettle of Fish, The San Remo, The Fat Black Pussy Cat, The Gaslight, The Cafe Wha! and the Cafe Bizarre. Plus sites associated with Beat luminaries like Alan Ginsberg, Jack Kerouac, Jackson Pollack, Lenny Bruce, Charlie Parker, James Baldwin and Diane DiPrima.
