At the request of the Membership Committee, the Executive Board at its September 2026 meeting has approved a proposed by-law change regarding Emeritus membership status. 

There are several other changes to the Emeritus Membership level proposed by the Membership Committee that the Executive Board is still considering, but for now, here is the proposed change. 

SECTION 1-A-7

Current by-law: “GANYC Emeritus Dues will be 60% of the full GANYC Membership Dues and renewals are due at the same time as full members.”

Proposed change: “GANYC Emeritus Dues will be 50% of the full GANYC Membership Dues and renewals are due at the same time as full members.”

This would mean that for the fiscal year 2027-28, dues for Emeritus members would be $90.

This proposed by-law change was emailed to all members to review, and a period of comment will ensue until October 16 2026. The Executive Board will consider all comments from the membership and vote on whether to adopt the new by-law at our next board meeting, which is October 19 2026.
